Student Winners Announced for Global Warming Solutions YouTube Video Contest

ELPC’s Global Warming Solutions YouTube Video Contest has a winner! High school students from around the Midwest were asked to submit their solution to global warming with a short video clip.

Thank you to all the participants. We would also like to thank our judges for volunteering their time to this contest, particularly Valerie Denney of Valerie Denney Communications, Thom Clark from Community Media Workshop, and Jim Schmidt from Downtown Partners Chicago. They had a difficult decision with all the great entries for the contest.


►  Winning Video

Global Warming PSA - Plant a Tree, Yo. The video was produced by a group of four students from Harlan Community High School in Harlan, IA which focused on the importance of planting trees to curb carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming pollution.

Congratulations to Danielle Hernandez, Amber Carl, Dusten Klindt and Sara Pape of Harlan Community High School!

Global Warming. This video was created by a student from Platteville High School in Platteville, WI highlights the urgent need to take action to solve global warming by using alternative energy, preserving our natural landscape and using fuel efficient vehicles.
